1. This book was inspired by my personal life, experience in pastoral counseling, and study of the lives of characters in the Bible. I have found that many people live beneath their potential because they accept and allow things that they should not. I want to help people to know the truth, that they can overcome every struggle that presents itself to them, and that they can live victorious lives.

2. This book is different from others books of similar topics because it takes the spookiness out of spiritual warfare. This is not a book about exorcisms, chasing goblins, or the occult. This book addresses concerns that people struggle with in their everyday lives that they may be unaware of as being spiritually rooted. When we are not aware of the source of a problem, it hinders our ability to deal with it effectively. This book gives us things to look for, and explains how to overcome.

3. This is a book for every person. No matter the background or walk of life, everyone who reads this book is bound to find something meaningful that they can apply to their lives. I address a wide range of subjects, from temptation, fear, deception, guilt, shame, addictions, and many more. We all have struggled with something or know someone who is struggling. The message and material is relevant and relatable to the human experience.

Jermaine Gadson is the pastor of Faith Ministries, Inc. in Birmingham, AL. He earned a B.A. in Religion with a concentration in Congregational Studies and a minor in Classics from Samford University in Birmingham, AL., and a Master of Divinity degree from Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree and hosts a local weekly television broadcast called Interceding for the City.
